Qazis to take ladies' view on triple talaq: Muslim law board



NEW DELHI: Making a frantic endeavor to discourage the Supreme Court from testing the legitimacy of triple talaq, the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) concurred on Thursday to pass a determination encouraging qazis to incorporate the lady of the hour's view on triple talaq in the nikahnama.

On the 6th and last day of hearing before a seat of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justices Kurian Joseph, R F Nariman, U Lalit and Abdul Nazeer, Kapil Sibal, speaking to AIMPLB, stated, "I have addressed the board and they have consented to pass a determination encouraging qazis to indicate in the nikahnama whether the lady planned to give her future spouse the privilege to separation her through triple talaq."

Sibal's last turn gelled with his contention that relational unions among Muslims were an agreement and others ought not gripe if the contracting gatherings were pleasant to triple talaq, which has been by and by throughout the previous 1,400 years and a mind lion's share of 160 million Indian Muslims held this as a legitimate method of completion conjugal relations.
